Wythogan Park still closed

August 13, 2012

Knox Mayor Rick Chambers would like to remind people that Wythogan Park in Knox is closed.
The park will remain closed until further notice.
Chambers said the area is still unsafe for residents. There are numerous trees still leaning over; and large branches are dangling in the air. These trees and branches could fall at any time and cause serious injury or even death.
Residents who see people in the park are to assume they are work crews or park personnel.
The Mayor said he hopes to award a contract this week for cleanup but even then, it will be several weeks before the park is once again safe for residents to enter.
Once the cleanup is complete, an announcement will be made telling residents they may once again enter the park safely.
Until the cleanup is complete, cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
