The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a winter storm watch — in effect from Monday evening through Tuesday morning.
Snow is expected to move into the area Monday evening and continue overnight.
Snowfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches are likely with between 5 and 8 inches possible.
The exact location where these heavier snowfall amounts occur remains uncertain and therefore a watch has been issued given the potential.
Temperatures will be in the single digits and teens during this event. Winds will not be that strong, likely around 10 mph. Snowfall rates up to an inch per hour may occur Monday night. Heavy accumulations will be possible with visibility reduced to one quarter mile or less at times.
Roads will become snow covered, slick and hazardous which will make travel difficult.
