LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. — Wayne E. Holdread, 85, passed away Jan. 21, 2012 in Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
He was born April 24, 1926 in Plymouth, to John Irwin and Ruth Catherine (Cassler) Holdread. 
He married Barbara Ann (Cramer) May 30, 1947 in the then Evangelical and Reform Church in Plymouth. After Wayne served in the Navy at the end of WWII he started his construction company “Holdread Construction.” He built houses, commercial buildings and was very well known for the construction of his masonry fireplaces. He was involved in his church, Cub and Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, boating, skiing, fishing, motorcycles and family activities. He loved flying small aircraft and serving others without praise or notice. He moved to Arizona in 1956.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth; brothers, Robert, Howard and Elbert; and son Stephen Wayne Holdread.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter-in-law, Karen Shaw Holdread of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; daughter, Joy Lynn Holdread of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Chris Holdread of Flagstaff, Ariz., Denise Holdread of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Amber Finney of Lake Havasu City, Ariz. and Chelsea Holdread of Flagstaff, Ariz.; brother, Elson (Ann) Holdread of Plymouth; sisters, Fern (Art) Woolington of Plymouth; Florence Newcomer of South Bend; and Lois Stoughton of Fullerton, Calif.; brother-in law, Bert (Norma) Cramer of Culver; sister-in-law, Rose (John) Cromley of Surprise, Ariz.; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at St. Michael’s United Methodist Church, Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Thursday, Jan. 26. 
The family requests no flowers and that memorials may be sent to the cancer charity of your choice or St. Michael’s United Methodist Church, 2895 S. Jamaica Blvd., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86406.
