Wa-Nee new faculty breakfast is Aug. 14
NAPPANEE — In what may very well have been one of the shortest sessions in recent memory, the Wa-Nee Community school board made quick work of a spartan agenda on Monday, July 8.
Superintendent Joe Sabo said this year’s breakfast banquet and orientation session for new faculty members to the Wa-Nee staff is Aug. 14 at NorthWood High School.
The event has become something of an annual tradition, with many businesses and civic leaders attending to formally welcome the new additions.
Sabo also reminded the board that there is a special school board meeting at 6:30 a.m. Monday, July 15.
The meeting will be conducted for the purpose of reviewing bids for Phase II of the Wa-Nee schools renovation endeavor.
This meeting will be the last for July, as the regularly scheduled meeting of July 22 is being canceled due to conflicts with the Elkhart County 4-H Fair.
The board approved hiring two staff members:
– Lisa Hostetter, second-grade teacher at Wakarusa Elementary, effective Aug. 14.
– Jean Sabo, temporary seventh-grade language arts teacher at NorthWood Middle, effective Aug. 14, and through Jan. 3, 2014.
