Wa-Nee get days off due to Blizzard
NAPPANEE -- The recent spate of snowfall that inundated the Wa-Nee district has had an impact on the scheduling of missed classes earlier this month. Those changes were detailed by Superintendent Joe Sabo during the Monday, January 13 session of the Board of School Trustees.
There has been much publicity as of late from Indiana's Superintendent of Public Instruction, Glenda Ritz, regarding the snowstorm that caused the students and staff of Wa-Nee to miss three days of school spanning from January 6 through January 8. Ritz issued a statewide press release notifying affected school districts and corporations that in light of the dangerous nature of the snowstorm, administrators could apply for a waiver for Monday, January 6 and Tuesday, January 7, meaning that the schools would not be required to make up those dates at a later time.
