Umbaugh is new CFO

Roger Umbaugh

By Anita Munson Staff Writer
Plymouth and Marshall County will play an expanded role in the development of Electric Motors Corp.’s plan to bring electric pick-up trucks and drive systems to the national market, an announcement the company made Tuesday indicated.
EMC announced that former H.J. Umbaugh & Associates executive partner Roger Umbaugh of Plymouth will join the company as its chief financial officer and that EMC has moved into its new office facilities in Plymouth.
The corporation does remain committed to Elkhart County for its manufacturing and assembly, Ralph King, chief executive officer told The Pilot News in a phone interview Tuesday afternoon.
“We have a commitment to Elkhart County that we will keep for assembly and more,” King said. In fact, mail to EMC should continue to be sent to P.O. Box 567, Wakarusa IN 46573, he said.
The selection of Umbaugh as CFO brings the company a career of public accounting that has produced billions of dollars in municipal bonds for the construction of schools, libraries, roads, public recreation facilities and other services across the state. Umbaugh also has served as president of the Marshall County Industrial Development Corp. since its inception in 2007, and has chaired the Investment Committee of the Marshall County Community Foundation five of the nine years he has been a board member.

Top medical training tool coming to Ancilla E-mail
Sunday, 15 March 2009
DONALDSON — He’s no dummy.
“iStan” is the latest in medical mannequins who mimics the workings of the human body to a new level of realism. And, he’s soon to arrive at Ancilla Domini College, thanks to donations from two local banks: $10,000 from 1st Source Bank and $15,000 from TCU Foundation.
“Our appreciation goes to 1st Source for assisting us in reaching our goal to get this simulator. Having it here will not only help to train nursing students, but it will impact the surrounding communities as well, as we will make iStan available to firefighters, EMT units, and healthcare providers,” said Ann Fitzgerald, director of the Division of Nursing and Health Sciences at Ancilla.
“iStan” is made by Medical Educational Technology, Inc. and mimics human symptoms and responds to treatment administered by trainees. Learning from the simulator can help improve outcomes during real-life situations.
“The impact of this great learning tool will certainly ripple out to everyone in our local communities as healthcare providers learn and practice with iStan to treat any one of us,” noted Ancilla President Dr. Ron May.
“We at 1st Source Bank are a reflection of the communities we serve. It’s pleasing to be a partner with Ancilla and enhance the quality of life in our community with this donation. We’re looking forward to hearing more about the impact iStan has at Ancilla and in this area,” said Ron Zeltwanger, regional president, 1st Source Bank.
