Plymouth Schools: Code Blue E-mail

PLYMOUTH — Plymouth High School Principal Jim Condon enacted a “Code Blue” around 10 a.m. Friday.
A “Code Blue” gives notification to teachers to lock their classroom doors, keep the students inside and continue teaching.
A “Code Blue” means there is no eminent threat whereas a “Code Red” signals the school staff to a danger in the building.

The “Code Blue” Friday was for a drug search of the high school property.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. Rodger Smith explained, “Mr. Condon received a call Friday morning from the police department saying that the three K-9 units were available and asked if it would be possible to conduct a search at 10 a.m. We have a standing invitation with them.”
K-9 units from Plymouth, Marshall County and the Indiana State Police were brought into the school and conducted a complete sweep of the building looking for drugs and drug paraphernalia. They also worked the dogs in the parking lots.
The K-9s suspected one vehicle in the student parking lot. A search was completed with nothing being located.
Smith said, “The ‘Code Blue’ was enacted for about an hour and nothing was found — and that’s a good thing for our facility.”
K-9 units involved in the search were Plymouth Officer John Weir and Rex, Officer Rick Kanarr and Xado and Trooper Ryan Lebo and Bosco.
