By Jeff Kenney Staff Writer
CULVER — Culver Elementary School played host to the 25th annual Marshall County Young Author’s Conference Thursday night and marked the occasion with a visit from award-winning children’s author Carolyn Crimi.
Crimi shared time with students at the school before a private book signing and “meet and greet” with winners in the conference’s annual student writing contest, and gave an address to parents and students in the school’s recently-renovated gymnasium.

PLYMOUTH — During tough economic times, it is often tough for families to find affordable activities.
Trinity United Methodist Church recognized this problem and is sponsoring a free movie day at the Rees Cinema. “Alvin and the Chipmunks” will be shown on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 11:30 a.m. and the admission is free.

The event is doing double-duty because free-will donations of non-perishable food or toiletry items will be accepted at the door and donated to the Bread of Life Food Pantry located on Water Street in Plymouth.
“This is great opportunity for families to have a fun time for little money,” said Barbara Holcomb, activity coordinator, “Plus other families will benefit from the food donations from the community. We want to encourage everyone to donate to the food pantry, but remember you do not have to donate to see this great family movie.”
For more information you can contact Trinity United Methodist Church at 574-936-2519.
