The geese may be the only ones enjoying the high water near Magnetic Park and the Conservation Clubhouse. Pilot photos/Rusty Nixon By Rusty Nixon Correspondent PLYMOUTH — While Knox residents prepare for flood stage height of the Yellow River, Plymouth residents will simply have to deal with high water. “At this point we have some low-level flooding,” said Clyde Avery Director of the Marshall County Emergency Management Agency. “We don’t anticipate that the river will reach flood level here.”
The Yellow River in Plymouth has caused considerable amounts of water in some places but nothing to prompt emergency action. Those in flood areas do have some assistance to keep the waters at bay. “I’ve been in touch with (Plymouth Street Department Superintendent) Jim Marquardt and he has dumped a load of sand with sand bags behind East Garro Street,” said Avery. “We also have sand bags available at the old EMA office next to the County Highway garage in case anybody needs them.”
