Thirty downtown businesses are taking part in a weekend full of events, including horse-drawn carriage rides Friday. In addition to the rides, carolers have been filling the Garro Street area downtown with music.

Fire destroys home

The family in this house on the 100 block of Shalley Drive in Plymouth was able to escape unharmed, but lost their family dog in a blaze that started just after 4 a.m. this morning. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control by 6 a.m., but were still on the scene for several more hours.

Above, the fire breaks through second story wall and attic roof. Information on the cause of the fire has not yet been provided.
