Santa Claus was busy all over Culver last weekend, starting Fri. night with the annual Knights of Columbus-sponsored tree lighting outside the train station/depot at the town park. Opened with remarks from St. Mary of the Lake Catholic church pastor Fr. Glenn Kohrman, the event also brought together students from Culver Comm. High School and Culver Academies, via the Culver Youth Community Organization (CYCO), who joined community members in caroling at select locations across town.
Santa visited one-on-one with area children at the annual children’s Christmas party -- sponsored by the Lions Club, Culver Fire Dept., Kiwanis Club, and VFW -- Sat. morning. Also on hand sharing balloon creations with the children was Nacho Trouble the clown. Santa even made time for an appearance at Elizabeth’s Garden to hear children’s wishes and at St. Mary of the Lake church as Saint Nicholas to dicuss his origins as a Christian bishop.
