Probation check turns into meth bust |

 Officers from the Plymouth Police Department, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the Indiana State Police responded to this apartment on West Jefferson Street in Plymouth Thursday afternoon, where they apprehended at least five people involved in an alleged methamphetamine operation. Pilot Photo/John K. Reed The Indiana State Police, assisting the Marshall County Probation Department on a home visitation Thursday, arrived at the residence of 1425, Apt. 1, Plymouth. A male opened the door and a strong chemical odor was coming from the apartment. There were numerous subjects inside the apartment and one attempted to flee out the back window. The Plymouth Police Department and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office were sent to assist at the scene due to the number of subjects and the subject attempting to flee.
Upon further investigation, methamphetamine lab items, methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia were located in the residence. It was found that a child resided at the residence and the Child Protective Service was called. The residence is located near Washington School in Plymouth. Subjects arrested were Charles Salach, who lived at the residence, for manufacturing methamphetamines/possession of methampehtamines. Also arrested were Robert Kratzchmar, Dianna Crum, Brandi Tomblin and Charles Boomhower, who were initially charged with visiting a common nuisance. The Indiana State Police Clandestine lab team was called to the scene to process and dismantle the lab. All information is being forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office reference further charges.
