By Rusty Nixon Correspondent PLYMOUTH – The staff at American Tire are getting in the giving spirit this holiday season by trying to help out local food pantries. The local auto repair company has a 50 inch RCA digital television on display that residents can come in to purchase a chance at winning with the proceeds going to the Marshall County Neighborhood Center and Neighborhood Community Church food pantries.
“But by the grace of God that could be any of us,” said Ray Driver of American Tire’s desire to lend a hand. “With the economy the way it is the pantries are getting a little bare this time of year and we wanted to help out.”
Anybody can come in and buy six raffle tickets for the price of $5. Patrons of American Tire will also have a chance to enter with any oil change or tire purchase. You need not be present to win. The winning number will be posted at the store on Dec. 20. If no winner comes forward to claim the prize by the first of the year, American Tire will hold an auction for the prize with all those proceeds also going to the pantries.
