 The “Outstanding Leader of the Year Award,” given by the Junior Leader President Stacy Weissert, was presented to Jon and Kim Bates of Bourbon Township. Photos provided PLYMOUTH — The 50th Annual Leader Recognition Banquet was held Nov. 6, at the Pretty Lake United Methodist Church Fellow-ship Hall. A meal was served by the Mary & Martha Circle with approximately 75 guests in attendance. On behalf of the 4-H Junior Leaders, Junior Leader President Stacy Weissert presented the Junior Leader Outstanding 4-H Leader Award to Jon and Kim Bates.
Steve Benczik, 4-H Council President, presented to Richard Murray, the “Friend of 4-H Award.” Leaders with five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of leadership were specially honored. A Power Point presentation, “Citizenship Washington Focus,” was given by Ryan Benczik and a poster was provided by Kelsey Strahla. “Citizenship Washington Focus” is a 4-H trip that was awarded to three Marshall County 4-H members this year — Benczik, Strahla and Tricia Neidlinger. Linda Verhaeghe received a 25-year service award and Angie Smith received a 10-year service award from the Alpha Lambda Chapter, Epsilon Sigma Phi from Purdue University. Sponsors for this year’s banquet included: the First State Bank of Bourbon, the Marshall County REMC, NIPSCO, Farm Credit Services, North Central Agri-Power, Inc., Gilsinger Implement Company, Inc., and Umbaugh & Associates.
