Thirty downtown businesses are taking part in a weekend full of events, including horse-drawn carriage rides Friday. In addition to the rides, carolers have been filling the Garro Street area downtown with music.

The ingenuity of Jefferson Elementary School students was evident as they hosted a “pumpkin drop” from the top of the Plymouth Fire Department’s bucket truck Wednesday.

Colin Hardins happily shows his smashed pumpkin.

Wrapped in foam, bubble wrap, wooden boxes and plastic bags, secured with string, tape and more, the students tried to protect their pumpkins from the fall. Above, teacher Jennifer George helps Jeremy Drudge unwrap his damaged goods.
