By Rusty Nixon Correspondent PLYMOUTH — Spooky happenings around the Plymouth Conservation Clubhouse on Magnetic Parkway have become a given for this time of year. Now in its sixth year, the Plymouth Parks Department will host its “Haunted Grounds” for Halloween this Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Back will be many old favorites as well as some new features.
“We have the maze that is a huge favorite with the kids,” said Shiloh Fonseca, Plymouth Parks Department recreation director. “It’s just this huge straw maze that our maintenance guys put together for us but the kids absolutely love it.” Senter Stage Dance company will also be back to perform dance numbers to the songs “Frankenstein” by the Edgar Winter Group and a Disney favorite “Which Witch is the Witch?” The Girl Scouts will provide some entertainment as part of another favorite of the season. “We’re going to have a hayride along the Greenways Trail and there will be some haunted vignettes taking place during the ride,” said Fonseca. “That ride takes a little while so the last group for the hayride will probably be loading up about 8 p.m.” The Boy Scouts will help out as well. “They came in last year and just wanted to do anything to help out,” said Fonseca. “This year they’ve got games for the kids planned like pumpkin bowling and our ghost bean-bag game.” And of course music, refreshments and ghost stories will abound. “There are a lot of planned activities this year that will be on a schedule,” said Fonseca. “When people get here they can grab a printed sheet that will tell them what’s happening and when it starts.” Festivities will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Conservation Clubhouse on Magnetic Parkway in Plymouth.
