The Sewer Overflow plan is required by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management as part of their license agreement. The plan involves the placement of several underground storage units for storm water – one at the Sanitary plant itself, one in the park area near Jefferson Street across from the Bowen Center, and another adjacent to Magnetic Park.
Mark Sullivan of Commonwealth Engineering reviewed the bids for the project and recommended to the board to accept a low bid of $1,053.90 from Oselka Construction. The board also accepted the recommendation of adding $29,400 in alternate bids making the total contract for $1,082,862.90.
Lift station work on Plymouth/Goshen Trail and on Michigan Street near Red Rock Inn. The station on Michigan Street will be completely reconstructed, while the station on Plymouth/Goshen Trail will be refurbished. The projects were bid together.

The bid awards on contingent on the city finding the financing for the projects. The city announced that it will give notice of intention for selling a bond issue on Friday with the sale of bonds to be Oct. 14. The bond issue will be fore $3,755,000.
