Thirty downtown businesses are taking part in a weekend full of events, including horse-drawn carriage rides Friday. In addition to the rides, carolers have been filling the Garro Street area downtown with music.

Devin Farrar was one of a select few fourth graders who were invited to shoot off a cannon as the Civil War 7th Indiana Light Artillery Civil War Reenactors Gunnery Crew members Lt. Paul Miller, 1st SGT Dennis Mishler, PVT Ten Kuhn, PVT Randy Mitchelen along with Eric Anderson of the 5th Gunnery Reserves put on a presentation at Centennial Park last night

The group explained to those in attendance the life of an infantryman during the Civil War. This group is looking for new people to join them, who enjoy Civil War history. They have extra uniforms and equipment for persons interested. Anyone looking for more information is asked to contact Paul Miller at 574-536-9152
