NAPPANEE — It took six fire departments nearly six-and-a-half hours to put out a blaze that completely destroyed a barn on West 200 North outside of Nappanee yesterday afternoon.
The call went out at approximately 2:14 p.m. The Nappanee Fire Department initially responded, but had to call for backup from Bremen, Wakarusa, Foraker, Bourbon and Etna Green.

Round two
LaVille Blue 10, ET Products 0
Highlights: Rodney Bett-cher hit a single in the fourth inning with two RBIs, and he hammered out a three-RBI walk-off home run to end the game and give LaVille Blue life in the loser’s bracket.
Codee Kimbel went five innings in a 10-run rule game to shut out ET Products. He gave up two hits while striking out eight ET Products batters, only walking three and hitting one batter.
Colin Snyder and J.J. Schafer had the only hits for ET Products as they bow out of the tournament.
Precision Painting 7, 1st Source Bank 2
Highlights: Once again, the lowest seed in the tourney is making themselves known.
Last year, 1st Source Bank won the tourney after being seeded lowest in the field. This year Precision Painting is putting on the Cinderella shoes.
Drew Bennitt led Precision Painting going 3 for 4 with  a double. He also had an RBI and scored once.
In addition to its offensive execution, Precision Painting had some great defensive play as well.
In the first inning, Drew Bennitt was playing third base when 1st Source Bank’s Taylor Fanning hit a foul ball that Bennitt ran down and made a spectacular, over-the-shoulder catch deep in foul territory.
During another play, Chase Bice fielded what should have been a stand-up double by Andrew Huff of 1st Source Bank, gunning down Huff from the left field fence.
Huff would have his revenge in the fourth inning with a great line drive catch to rob Brandon Sporner’s chance of finding green for Precision Painting.
Dillon Mullen led 1st Source Bank at the plate going 2 for 3 while scoring once.
Nick Anderson had a double with an RBI, and Michael Ricketts scored on a passed ball for the other run for 1st Source Bank.
