By Angel Perkins Editor There have been two fatal accidents in less than a week, involving area teens. The first tragic event's news came when the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department reported a vehicular crash that killed two passengers and critically injured two others Sunday afternoon, June 29 on S.R. 25. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two vehicle, head-on crash near the location of S.R. 25 and C.R. 1300 West in Kosciusko County at approximately 12:04 p.m. Sunday.
The location of the accident was west of the Town of Mentone in southwest Kosciusko County near the Fulton and Marshal County border. Kosciusko County Sheriff's deputies say a Dodge Intrepid traveling westbound on Indiana 25 near Mentone was passing another vehicle when it struck a Ford F-350 pickup truck driven eastbound by Tim J. Boganwright, 48, Claypool head-on. Two passengers in the car were pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner's Office. They are identified as 20-year-old Ryan S. Holloway of Rochester and 18-year-old Bryant M. Scott of Tippecanoe. The driver of the car, 18-year-old Nathan Creighton of Warsaw, and another passenger, 20-year-old Shawn A. Keckler of Rochester, are in critical condition at Parkview hospital in Fort Wayne. Boganwright was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital and released with minor injuries. According to details released by Warsaw's Times-Union, a substantial amount of what is believed to be marijuana was confiscated from Creighton's vehicle and is being tested as is blood work from Creighton and his passengers. Then, only five days later, the Marshall County Coroner's office reported that on July 4, 10-year-old Zachary L. Flosenzier was riding his dirt bike to a friends house when he collided in the roadway head on with a car driven by Chelsea L. Tillman of Bourbon, at approximately 2:23 p.m. Zachary, a Menominee Elementary School student and resident of Rose Road in Plymouth, was thrown from his motorcycle and transported by paramedics with Plymouth EMS and Fire to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth. Life-saving efforts were continued by hospital staff but were unsuccessful. Tillman was treated and released from the emergency room.
