Plymouth Post 27 lost to Prospect Post 368, 3-0, and knocked off Paintersville Post 117, 9-4, Saturday at the Zanesville (Ohio) Post 29 Tournament. Post 27, which won its opener Friday, finished 2-1. Phil Stakely tossed a two-hit complete-game shutout, striking out eight to lead Prospect Ohio Post 368 over Plymouth Post 27.
Ryne Sweeney went 1-for-2 for Post 27. Despite leaving seven runners in scoring position, Plymouth Post 27 outlasted Paintersville Kentucky Post 117 behind the solid pitching effort of Michael Fansler. Fansler fanned six in six innings of work to earn the win. Jeff Himes led Post 27 at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.
