Golf Youth for Christ hosting third annual golf scramble PLYMOUTH — Youth for Christ is hosting its third annual Indiana Lakes Area Golf Scramble June 23 at Plymouth Country Club. Lunch is at 11:30 a.m., with tee time to follow at 1 p.m. A prime rib buffet dinner is planned for 5:45 p.m. Cost is $100 per golfer or $400 per foursome. Entry fee covers the entire event. Pony League Bremen Pony League raffling scooter and cash prizes BREMEN — The Bremen Pony League will be selling raffle tickets for a drawing, Thursday June 26 at 7:45 p.m. at the Pony League diamond. The grand prize is a 2008 Wildfire R8 Deluxe Gas Scooter. Cash prizes of $100, $50 and $25 are also up for grabs. You may pick up a ticket at the Bremen Pony League concession stand before June 26. You need not be present to win.
Running Potato Creek Fest 5K Spud Run/Walk slated for Saturday NORTH LIBERTY — Potato Creek Fest’s 5K Spud Run/Walk and one-mile Tater Trot Fun Run will be held Saturday, June 21 at the VFW, corner of Tamarack/Quinn Road, North Liberty. Soccer Plymouth Select soccer academy and tryout dates set PLYMOUTH — Plymouth Select Soccer is holding tryouts Saturday and Sunday, June 28 and 29, for boys and girls teams playing in the fall soccer season. The tryouts will be held at the Plymouth High School Soccer Plex, on the corner of Randolph and Baker Streets in Plymouth. Marshall County area girls and boys ages 8-13 are eligible to try out. Candidates should wear soccer equipment including shin guards and shoes. Girls should attend from 10-11:15 a.m. Saturday, or from 1-2:15 p.m. Sunday. Boys will try out from 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Saturday, or from 2:30-3:45 p.m. Sunday. At these same times and place, younger players, ages 6-9, can sign up for this summer’s soccer academy. One evening a week, for six weeks in July and August, the kids will be trained in fundamental soccer skills by experienced coaches.
