Plymouth Country Club’s Hutsell finishes third at Indiana PGA event E-mail
Wednesday, 18 June 2008

LEBANON — Plymouth Country Club Pro Chad Hutsell continued his red-hot play in June with a third-place finish Monday at the Indiana Section PGA Pepsi-Club Car Tour-nament Series at The Trophy Club in Lebanon.

Hutsell shot two-under 70 to tie for third place in the 81-man field of Indiana PGA professionals. Hutsell shot 35-35 on the 7,208-yard Lebanon par 72 course, which has a 74.0 course rating, and a slope of 131. He had two birdies on the front nine holes and two on the back, along with a bogey on each nine – plus 12 pars.

Quinn Griffing, of Donald Ross Golf Club, Fort Wayne, was victorious after shooting a 4-under-par 68 in the one-day, stroke-play event. Dave Fleming, Otter Golf Center, Greenwood, finished second at 69, while Dean Prange, Hillcrest Club, Indianapolis, tied with Hutsell at 70.

The Plymouth pro had his best competitive round in his career on June 2 at Indiana National Golf Club at Swan Lake, which hosted the Indiana Northern Open. Hutsell shot 67 to tie for first with three other golfers, but lost on the first hole of a sudden death playoff.
