PLYMOUTH — Like other government agencies, the Plymouth Public Library could experience funding cuts or reorganization in the future.
Director Susie Reinholt said, “We have known this has been coming since the Kernan-Shepard Report was released. There could be changes in all 230 public libraries in the state.”
The Plymouth Library budget for 2007 was $1,663,600. The 2009 budget reflects only a two percent increase. Reinholt said the budget must cover all details including salaries, utilities, insurance and everything that costs to run the library.

Unsafe buildings in county E-mail

PLYMOUTH —The Marshall County Board of Health held two hearings on Tuesday night concerning unsafe buildings.
Larry Moore, Sunshine Salvage had been sent a letter May 15 to inform him of the need to bring his property at 107 E. Randolph St. in LaPaz into compliance within 30 days.

Health Department official Wes Burden informed the board that no work had been done at the site.
The board voted unanimously to contract out having the structure secured.

Another LaPaz area property was also discussed. It was decided by the board that a structure at the corner of Lilac Road and U.S. 6 owned by Khalid Siddiqui will also be secured by an outside contractor.
The billing for the work will be sent to the owners. It was noted that liens could be placed upon the property if the billing is not satisfied.
