Wanda R. Kane
February 28, 1931 — June 12, 2008
    BREMEN — Wanda Ruth Kane, 77, passed away after a six-month illness at 3:45 p.m. June 12, 2008.
    Wanda was born on Feb. 28, 1931 in Galien, Mich. to Leo Herbert and Laura (Stoner) Lauver. She graduated from North Liberty High School in 1948 and married Harry D. Kane on June 18, 1949 at North Liberty United Methodist Church.
    They lived in North Liberty until moving to Bremen in 1971 when their farm was purchased for the development of Potato Creek State Park.
    Wanda is survived by her dearly loved family: husband Harry; six daughters and their spouses: David and Jane Yoder, Tim and Jan Hardy, Todd and Jenny Bennitt, Tracy and Julie Miller all of Bremen, Don and Jill Mulvihill of Glen Ellyn, Ill., and Dave and Joann Teune of Concord, N.H. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Delbert and Julia Lauver of Niles, Mich.
    She was preceded in death by her parents.
    Harry and Wanda have been blessed with 17 grandchildren: Shannon (Mark) McBride, Ryan (Brooke) Libey, Shane Libey, Ben and Katelyn Yoder, Ruth, Ellen and Daniel Mulvihill, Dianne, Kevin and Bethany Hardy, Patrick, Aaron and  Brian Teune and Laura, Lenae and Lacey Bennitt. They also have seven great-grandchildren: Dane, Rylan and Jaleigh McBride, Brylie, Seth and Elle Libey and Landon Bates.
    Wanda dedicated her life to her family and enjoyed hosting and attending family activities as well as gardening.
    A celebration of Wanda's life in Christ for family and friends will be held at Nappanee Missionary Church Sunday, June 22 at 2 p.m. A time of fellowship will follow.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospital of Bremen or the African Gospel Church (AGC) Baby Center in Kenya, a ministry of the Nappanee Missionary Church.

Claribel Quivey
June 24, 1914 — June 13, 2008
    CULVER — Claribel K. Quivey, 93, of Culver, died June 13, 2008 at 7:28 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor, Culver.
    Claribel was born June 24, 1914 in North Judson, to Charles and Dessie (Warren) Scott.
     She was a homemaker who lived all of her life in the Culver community'
    Claribel married Ronald C. Quivey June 24, 1933 (who preceded her July 18, 1995) in Culver at the Evangelical United Brethren Church.
    She was a member of the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church of Culver, Ind.; United Methodist Women; Rutland Circle; Marshall County Extension Homemakers Club and Whipperwill Ladies Aid.
    She is survived by a daughter,  Alice Hartman (Darwin) of Plymouth; four grandchildren: Kathryn Middaugh of Plymouth, David (Becky) Hartman of Plymouth, Nancy (Bob) Suseland of Plymouth and Jim Hartman of Plymouth; six great-grandchildren: Matthew and Julie Middaugh of Plymouth, Elizabeth and Rachel Hartman of Plymouth, Robert and Andrew Suseland of Plymouth.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one daughter; Kathryn Quivey
    Friends may visit with the family Tuesday, June 17, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral Home with Rev. Henry Sprunger of the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church officiating.
    Burial will take place at the Maxincukee I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Poplar Grove, Culver.   
    Memorial Contributions can be made to Poplar Grove United Methodist Church.
