May 14, 1927 – May 29, 2008
    SOUTH BEND — Stuart L. Jackson, 81, residing in South Bend, Ind., passed away at 12:40 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2008 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.
    He was born May 14, 1927 in Royalton, Ky. to William & Anna (Howard) Jackson who have both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Stuart (Randy) Jackson on April 3, 1999 and William Scott Jackson on January 31, 2004, along with three sisters, and four brothers.
    On May 14, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio he married the former Margaret Robinette. Together, they have enjoyed sixty-two years of marriage. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret; his daughter, Ginger Bryan of Ossian, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving Stuart is his brother, Howard and Viola Jackson of Walkerton, Ind., and many nieces and nephews.
    Stuart worked for A.M. General for 29 years in Quality Control and as a Union Officer and Past President of Local # 5. He played Bluegrass Music. He really loved his music and performed in concerts in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee, playing the guitar and singing tenor. He and son Scott had their own band.  
    He even performed in a private gathering for President Jimmy Carter while he was visiting in South Bend. His family and friends will miss him always. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in South Bend.
    Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 2, at Grace United Methodist Church, 3012 S. Twyckenham Drive, South Bend. Rev. David Schrader will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery.  
    The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 1, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, and one hour prior to services Monday at the Church.
    Contributions in memory of Mr. Jackson may be offered to Bashor Children’s Home, P. O. Box 843, Goshen, IN  46527-0843.
