Mary Alice Bragg Dec. 24, 1925 - May 26, 2008 LAKEVILLE — Mary Alice Bragg, 82, of Lakeville, passed away at 7:28 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Bragg was born Dec. 24, 1925 in Marion to the late Everett and Tressie Marie (Oden) Long. She has lived in Lakeville since 1970, moving from North Manchester. On March 12, 1943 in Marion, she married Ira Bragg Jr. who preceded in death on April 3, 1971. Two sisters, Velma Heighway and Clara Mae McDaniel, one brother, William Long, and a great- grandson Aiden Bragg all preceded in death. Mrs. Bragg retired in 2001 after 30 years of employment as a waitress at Jack’s Bar in Lakeville. She attended the Trinity Evangelical Free Church, South Bend. Mrs. Bragg is survived by three daughters: Randa (Dan) Cox of Lakeville, Rebecca Dannacher of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. and Rita (Jimmy) Goff of Wakarusa; four sons: Galen (Judy) Bragg, Ira (Rosana Balmer) Bragg, III., and Gary (Lisa) Bragg, all of Lakeville, and Shawn Bragg of Atlanta, Ga.; 14 grandchildren: Bob Bragg, Chris Bragg, Gavin Beach, Crystal Bragg, Caleb Bragg, Nick (Carlea Howard) Bragg, Brandon (Danielle) Bragg, Nate (Molly Briggs)Bragg, Anthony Bragg, Austin Bragg, Mary Goff, Noah Goff, Danny Cox, and Alice Cox; and four great-grandchildren: Billy Bragg, A.J. Bowman, Isaac Bragg, and Aubrey Bragg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan St., Lakeville. Rev. Edward Bragg will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Sweetser. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 30th, at the funeral home. Jeanette E. Masterson Sept. 24, 1986 - May 25, 2008 PLYMOUTH — Jeanette E. Masterson, 21, of Plymouth, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2008. Jeanette was born on Sept. 24, 1986 in South Bend and has been a lifelong resident of Plymouth. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School, Class of 2005 and completed the basic training course for the National Guard. Jeanette worked at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, as a patient care provider and in the Registration department. Jeanette was working toward a degree in nursing, and aspired to be a surgical nurse. Jeanette is survived by her parents, Brian K. and Sheri (Burch) Masterson of Plymouth. She will also be missed by her brother, Jeremiah Masterson, at home; sister Caitlin Masterson of Plymouth; paternal great grandmother, Marie Masterson of Plymouth; maternal grandmother, Naomi Niemier of Plymouth; and paternal grandparents, Fred and Rita Masterson of Plymouth. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Plymouth Wesleyan Church, 11203 S. Michigan St., Plymouth, IN. Rev. John Branch will officiate. Raymond Macy April 23, 1936 - May 27, 2008 PLYMOUTH — Raymond L. Macy, 72, of 11686 Lincoln Highway, Plymouth, passed away at 2:17 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at the Community Hospital of Bremen. Raymond was born April 23, 1936, in Rochester, to Harry and Mildred (VanDuyne) Macy. Ray was a union carpenter for 21 years and he was also a business representative for Indiana District Council of Carpenters and Millwrights for 21 years until retirement. He proudly severed his country in the United States Navy. Raymond and Jo Ann Webb were united in marriage on August 2, 1963, in Mexico, Ind. Together they raised their three daughters. Ray is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann Macy; their daughters, Kimberlee R. Macy of Plymouth, Julie A. and Steven Goble of Plymouth, and Jennifer J. Macy of Indianapolis; two granddaughters, McKenzie Goble and Macy Goble of Plymouth; his brothers, Harry J. and Delpha Macy of Florida and Robert D. Macy of Rochester. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Margaret Holdread; and his sister-in-law, Carol Macy. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2008, at 3:30 p.m. at the VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Charles Krieg officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth. Edward C. Pritchett March 27, 1926 - May 23, 2008 Edward C. Pritchett, 82, of Longview, Texas, formerly of Rochester, died at 12:34 p.m. CST Friday, May 23, 2008 at Good Shepherd Hospital, Longview, Texas. On March 27, 1926, he was born to Clarence and Lura Peppers Pritchett. Ed was born and lived on a cotton farm with his family in southern Missouri, near the Mississippi River. Following graduation from East Prairie High School, in East Prairie, Mo., he served our country as a member of the U.S. Navy during the World War II era. He then returned to the Hammond, Ind. area where he worked in various steel mills as a union pipe fitter and union steam fitter. On June 9, 1951, in Radford, Va., Ed married the love of his life Helen M. Mills. Together they shared more than 40 years of marriage that yielded four children: Patricia, Michael, John and Gregory. Helen passed away following a lengthy battle of cancer on Aug. 26, 1991. He was also preceded in death by his parents; an infant son Gregory; and a brother, Carl Pritchett. Life in the country beckoned Ed and Helen and family as they bought land and settled in Richland Township north and west of Rochester in 1957. During the next 35+ years till 1993, Ed oversaw the family farm raising Charolais cattle in the early years then later, bred a variety of hogs and beef along with the grain crops of corn, wheat and soybeans. Affectionately, known to his best friends as, “Mr. Ed” — he and Helen would entertain friends and neighbors on the wraparound front porch chatting for hours into the dark of night. Ed looked forward to his Saturday trips to the Rochester Sale Barn where he watched the sale and visited with all of his buddies. Ed was delighted to take his family on vacations from coast-to-coast–camping. It was these times that nature embraced them and adventures were greatly enjoyed and remembered. In 1993, Ed sold the family farm traveled around the southwest in his 5th wheel. He spent some time in New Mexico, then moved to Texas. Ed had always appreciated country-western and music of the big band era. But it was during this time that Ed discovered a new talent — his uncanny ability to do the Jitter-Bug. He Jitter-bugged in contests around Texas and New Mexico with occasional wins. He also enjoyed morning coffee with the guys of Longview, Texas and the many opportunities their gathering allowed for solving the world’s problems. Ed was a member of the Gregton 1st Baptist Church, Longview Texas. He also was a former member of the Manitou Moose Lodge # 1107, 33 degree Mason, Masonic Lodge # 79, Manitou V.F.W. # 1343, and the LeRoy Shelton American Legion Post # 36 all of Rochester. Ed will be remembered as a loving father, dedicated grandfather and devoted friend. He leaves his family and friends to cherish his memory. He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Mangan of Lewisville, N.C.; two sons: Michael E. Pritchett of Plymouth and John K. Pritchett of Rochester; two grandchildren: Ryan Mangan of Winston-Salem, N.C. and Ashley Pritchett of Plymouth; two sisters: Nadine Hilty of Hammond and Melva Szyblewski of Calaumet City, Ill.; along with nieces and nephews. A celebration of the life of Edward C. “Mr. Ed” Pritchett will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning, May 31, 2008 at the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200, West 18th St., Rochester. Rev. John Branch will officiate his services. Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday and on Saturday one hour prior to his service. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the LeRoy Shelton American Legion Post and the Manitou V.F. W. at the Rochester IOOF Cemetery where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Helen. Marie Stull Sept. 18, 1924 - May 11, 2008 Marie L. Stull 83, formerly of Plymouth, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008, in Thunderbird Valley Hospice, Phoenix, Ariz. Marie was born in Battle Creek, Mich., on Sept. 18, 1924, to James N. and Gladys M. (Bennett) Crippen. She was previously married to Harlan Stull of LaGrange, who passed away on Jan. 1, 2004. She is survived by her son, Devon (Susie) Stull of Plymouth; her daughter, Dawn (Carl) Migura of Victoria, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan Stull; her daughter, Joyce (Stull) Moser; her brother, Delton Crippen; and her sisters, Dorothy Kline, Vivian Milton, and Fairy Shoemaker. A memorial service will he held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008, at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service, at Van Gilder Funeral Home. Interment services will be private.
