MISHAWAKA — Seniors Pam Flanagan and Angela Carlson scored seven goals to lead Culver Girls Academy to its second straight lacrosse state championship Saturday afternoon. Flanagan scored four goals and Carlson added three to propel the Eagles past Park Tudor 14-7. The Eagles led at by just two points, 9-7, in the second half before going on a 5-0 streak while senior goalie Mary Saran, who tallied 25 saves, shut down the Panthers.
Both seniors, Flanagan and Carlson helped the Eagles (18-1) overcome an early deficit for their second consecutive title in the finals played at Mishawaka Marian High School. Park Tudor grabbed an early 3-0 lead, but CGA rebounded with six consecutive goals, taking a 7-4 lead at halftime. Park Tudor cut the deficit to two on three occasions during the first 18 minutes of the second half, the last at 9-7, before the Eagles went on their five-goal run over the final seven minutes.
