Romie F. Voreis

    CULVER — Romie F. Voreis, 92, of 11995 East 250 South, Culver, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 8:05 p.m. at the Hospice House in South Bend.
    He was born July 7, 1915 in Burr Oak  to Jessie and Alma (Working) Voreis.
    Romie worked at Allis-Chalmers in LaPorte for 30 years.
    Romie and Alzina Lucille Troyer were married on July 23, 1933. She passed away on Oct. 19, 1988. Romie and Virginia Lechlitner were married on June 23, 1990. They enjoyed spending time in Florida during the winter time.  Romie loved being outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and nature. He served his country in the United States Navy.
    Romie is survived by his wife, Virginia; his sons: Kenneth and Gaynelle Voreis of Vermillion, Ohio and William and Linda Voreis of Bear Lake, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; his step-daughters Pat and Everett Feece of Plymouth and Bonnie and David Winrotte of Plymouth; four step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren, and two step-great-great-grandchildren.          
    Romie was preceded in death by his first wife, Alzina; his daughter, Katherine; two infant sons; his grandson, Chris; two sisters; and four brothers.
    Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, in Plymouth, with Chaplin Thomas Padberg officiating. Burial will be in Burr Oak Cemetery, Burr Oak.
    Friends and family may visit with the Voreis family Wednesday, May 14, 2008, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth.
