BOURBON — Fredrick Lynn Young, 42, of Bourbon and Wawaka, Ind., died of natural causes at 10:44 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008 in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Born in Plymouth, Ind., on May 16, 1965, Fred was the son of Danny Young and Naomi (Pickerl) Young.
Fred attended the JESSE program at Argos High School. He was employed at the Foundations Center in Albion, Ind.
He enjoyed summer camp at Epworth Forest, traveling with his family, music, his daily walks, bowling and most of all, being around people. Some of Fred’s favorite music included anything classical, such as “The Sound of Music” and “Oklahoma”, the jam session at Grace Village and the Masterworks Festival in Winona Lake every summer.
For the last six years, Fred walked the Mackinac Bridge over Labor Day weekend.
Fred recently shared in the excitement of the Triton Boys Basketball State Championship.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Fred is survived by his mother, Naomi R. Young of Bourbon and Wawaka; a sister, Carman Young of Fort Wayne and a brother, Greg (B.J.) Young of Locust Grove, Ga.; an aunt, Hattie Bierly of Atwood; an uncle, Dwight Pickerl of Indianapolis and cousins.
Friends are invited to celebrate Fred’s life with his family Wednesday, May 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Fred will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 15, in the funeral home. The Rev. Mark Day, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Bourbon, where Fred attended, will officiate.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.

PLYMOUTH – Marjorie R. Pett, 87, a former resident of Plymouth, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008, at the Grove Nursing Center, Grove, Okla.
Born in Pierceton, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Voyal and Ruth (Phillips) Harris. She married Richard E. “Dick” Pett, Sr. in 1994. He preceded her in death in 1994 after 50 years of marriage.
Marjorie enjoyed working for the Plymouth school system as a cafeteria cook for many years.
She was a member of the Plymouth First United Methodist Church and the Tyra Constance Guild.
Marjorie is survived by sons, Richard E. Jr. “Gene” (Marcia) Pett, of Grove, Okla. and Douglas (Sandra Sims) Pett of Fort Wayne, Ind.
A grandson, Scot (Joelle) Pett, great-grandson, Jordon Pett of Troy, Mich. and granddaughter, Dawn Allison Pett, Arlington Heights, Ill., also survive.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Voyal and Maurice Harris.
Friends are invited to celebrate the life of Marjorie Pett with her family from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, and after 7 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Marjorie will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Dean Fager, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
