Elder Haus to offer seniors ‘REAL’ service E-mail
Thursday, 08 May 2008
By Mandy McFarland Editor
NAPPANEE — In less than a week, the Elder Haus senior center in Nappanee will be ready to serve up some ‘Real’ service for local seniors.
Beginning May 12, REAL Services will begin serving lunch at the center, located at 451 N. Main St. in Nappanee.
Elder Haus director Connie Fink invites all Nappanee seniors to take advantage of the low-cost meals and the social opportunities presented. Fink feels the Elder Haus facility is an ideal location for REAL Services to begin serving seniors in Nappanee again.
“We’re just so delighted to become a Real Service site,” she said. “We have Main Street Manor here and NorthWood Circle Apartments so close, and all seniors 60 and older are welcome.”
Mayor Larry Thompson also feels the returning presence of REAL Services in Nappanee will be beneficial to all local seniors.
“We’re just very pleased at this announcement,” he said. “We’ll do whatever we can to make it successful.”
Meals begin at approximately 11:45 a.m. Those who wish to take advantage must call Elder Haus, 773-2424, to make reservations.
The Elder Haus will provide transportation for those within city limits who need it.
Cost for a meal is based on what individual seniors can afford.
