Prayer Breakfast Thursday E-mail
Tuesday, 29 April 2008
By Rusty Nixon Correspondent
PLYMOUTH — Area residents will have an opportunity to gather to pray for their community on Thursday as the Mayor’s office will host the Plymouth Community Prayer Breakfast.
The breakfast will be held on Thursday, May 1 at 6:30 a.m. at Christo’s Banquet Center. Doors will open at 6 a.m.
“It’s a chance for us to gather and give thanks for all that we have,” said Plymouth First Lady Leanne Senter, one of the events’ organizers. “It gives us a chance to offer up prayer for the needs or our community and the world.”
This year’s speaker is Mike Lightfoot, head coach of men’s basketball and director of athletic development at Bethel College.
The event will also offer an opportunity to recognize another area organization for its community service.
“It will give us a chance to recognize the Boy Scouts for their years of service and guidance to the kids in the area,” said Leanne Senter.
All proceeds from the breakfast will go to the Boy Scouts of America; Cub Scout Pack #222, Boy Scout Troops #251 and #257.
Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the Mayor’s Office, Anco Office Supply or by calling Leanne Senter, 574-936-7379.
