By Carol Anders Staff Writer PLYMOUTH — The Marshall County Election Board reviewed a number of items concerning the upcoming primary election at its meeting this week. The 2008 primary election polling sites list and the notice of absentee voting were reviewed for accuracy. Patty Jones, deputy clerk, indicated that the number of applications for absentee voting received was larger than those received in other years.
Jones said many of the application are from college students who will not be in the area to vote at a polling site. The Absentee Board will begin processing absentee ballots tomorrow. Absentee voting at the Marshall County Clerk’s Office will begin Monday, April 7 at 8 a.m. The board also discussed the information that will be presented to poll workers in a series of training meetings that will start on April 29. Although there was no discussion on the matter, it was noted that a bench trial date concerning former candidate for clerk Judy Price Reynolds has been scheduled for April 15 at 1 p.m. Kosciusko County Judge Rex Reed will be hearing the case. According to the board, Reynolds failed to comply with the requirement to file campaign finance reports on a timely basis. The election board members voted unanimously to hold a meeting every Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. throughout April. Meetings are open to the public.
