Doug Gehrke, a senior at Plymouth High School, was named as one of the 12 state finalists in the Indiana Leaders of Tomorrow program. Jim Wagner, public affairs manager with EMBARQ, presented Doug with a plaque and a cash award of $500 Tuesday. In addition, Plymouth High School will receive a $500 donation from EMBARQ.

Doug, the son of Dave and Karen Gehrke, of Plymouth, was selected as the Plymouth-area District finalist for his leadership through community volunteerism, academic excellence and extracurricular activities.
The statewide winner of EMBARQ’s Leaders of Tomorrow program was Kyle Gough of Westview High School in Topeka.
