It may look like something out of a science fiction novel, but the ice rings topped with snow are in fact real. The rings were evident over the weekend before Monday night’s snowstorm covered the Yellow River again. The rings were made after the river had receded recently, however temperatures hadn’t completely melted the ice surrounding the trees where the water level had been. Pilot Photo/John K. Reed
