Denver and the Mile High Orchestra LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Plymouth’s favorite son, or at least favorite new era big band leader, Denver Bierman will be making an appearance tonight on Fox’s latest reality show, “The Next Great American Band.”
Bierman, and his Mile High Orchestra (DMHO) — which includes another Plymouth favorite son, or at least favorite trumpet player, Adam Beck — will be vying for votes to continue, in hopes of becoming America’s favorite band.Bierman and Beck are both Plymouth High School graduates.
DMHO was chosen as one of the 12 finalists for Fox’s latest talent search. The show airs at 8 p.m. Eastern, 7 p.m. Central.
The “Next Great American Band” is the latest creation of the producers of American Idol and is structured in a similar format.
Each Friday, every group performs and then the audience calls in and votes for their favorite group. The group with the fewest votes is eliminated and sent home. The band’s fan club Web site (www.denvermhofanclub.com) is encouraging local friends of Bierman and Beck to be sure to watch the show and call in (multiple times if you can) to vote for DMHO. It also asks that you call and tell friends to watch and vote, too.
They are also encouraging anyone who has a DMHO shirt to wear it on Fridays during the show. The site is soliciting ideas to help fellow fans promote DMHO for “The Next Great American Band,” as well.
The band’s first live performance on the show will be Friday at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central on Fox. Due to contractual agreements with Fox, Bierman was unable to grant local interviews at this time, but the Pilot News will be keeping in touch with Bierman and can give you the latest information as it’s available.
