PLYMOUTH – Janice Lee, 84, died at home at 8:50 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2010
Janice was born Aug. 15, 1925 in Mishawaka. She was the daughter of Earl and Lorena Ethel Shafer Lee.
She graduated from Indiana Wesleyan with a Bachelor of Science Degree in June of 1961. Janice taught 12 years in Portage and four years in Culver — 16 years altogether.
Janice has been involved over the years at Plymouth Wesleyan Church in Children’s Church, Youth President, and Vacation Bible School Teacher. She was the Missionary Society’s President, Vice President. and Treasurer at one time and Assistant Teacher of Berean Class. Janice was the assistant Dean for Women at Indiana Wesleyan, was Treasurer for the Missionary Project Committee, Secretary of International Relations Club, President of Foreign Missions Fellowship and involved with the Student Education Association.
Janice is survived by two sisters, June (Clifford) Martin of Elkhart, and Lorena Snyder of Plymouth. Ten nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews survive as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a three-month-old baby brother, Charles Raymond Lee; two sisters, Laura Robinson and Helen Bunch; along with a brother-in-law, Roy Snyder.
Friends are invited to share memories with Janice’s family Thursday Feb. 4, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Services officiated by Rev. John Branch, pastor of the Plymouth Wesleyan Church where Janice was a member, will be held immediately following visitation at noon in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers Janice has requested that memorial contributions be given in her name to the Plymouth Wesleyan Church for Missionaries 11203 S. Michigan St., Plymouth, IN, 46563.
Burial will follow in the Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
