A Thanksgiving fire at U.S. Granules Corp. kept fire and emergency crews busy at the Western Avenue plant until this morning. The fire started at a nearby shed, according to crews on the scene. It then spread to the plant. 

Fire crews used sand to extinguish the flames, since aluminum is in the plant. Water could have made the fire explosive.
No one was in the building at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
