WARSAW — A Warsaw woman is in serious condition in a Fort Wayne hospital Wednesday, Nov. 11 after her vehicle was “T-Boned” in an early morning crash on U.S. 30 near Warsaw. Beth A. Bumgardner, 47, Warsaw, was crossing the intersection of U.S. 30 and C.R. 200 North that morning at approximately 7:43 a.m. when she was struck in the driver’s side of her vehicle by another vehicle driven by Scott A. Haines, 24, Bourbon.
Haines stated that he had been eastbound on U.S. 30 approaching the intersection and could not see the traffic light signal due to the morning sun that was blinding his view. Haines’ vehicle slammed into the driver’s side of Bumgardner’s vehicle, pinning her until she was extricated by the Warsaw Fire Department. Bumgardner was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital where she was immediately airlifted to Parkview Memorial Hos-pital in Fort Wayne with internal, neck and head injuries. Haines was also transported to KCH with shoulder injuries. The Kosciusko County FACT/Critical Investigation Team is currently still working the crash investigation at this time. The Kosciusko County FACT was assisted at the scene by the Warsaw Fire Department, Warsaw Police Department, and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
