KNOX — The Starke County Chamber of Commerce has announced the selection process and schedule for determining this year’s recipient of the prestigious Henry F. Schricker Community Service Award.
This will be the 22nd anniversary of the award to be bestowed upon an outstanding Starke County citizen. Schricker was born in North Judson Aug. 30, 1883. He became governor of Indiana for the terms 1941-44 and 1949-52. He always lived by the attitude of “service before self,” the foundation of the award. Individuals can nominate a candidate by submitting a resume and cover letter, outlining the qualities and deeds of the candidate which demonstrate significant voluntary contributions and benefits to Starke County. All resumes should be received by the chamber by Dec. 14. Announcement of the recipient will be made by Dec. 28. The recipient will be honored at the annual Henry F. Schricker Award Dinner Jan. 21 at Grand Central Station. For more information, contact Anthony Manning at 574-772-5548. Resumes may be mailed to the Starke County Chamber of Commerce P.O. Box 5, Knox, IN 46534 or delivered to the chamber office at 400 N. Heaton St. (Gateway Depot), Knox. All submissions will be kept private and confidential.
