Plymouth’s Chelsea Benge makes ICGSA All Star Team |

PLYMOUTH — Plymouth MVP and Northern Lakes All-Conference First Team pick Chelsea Benge added another honor to her resume when she was selected to play in the 2009 ICGSA North All Star game this Sunday, Nov. 22 at Perry Meridian High School.
The senior middle hitter was nominated by Lady Pilgrims head coach Walt Pickerell and selected by the IHSAA state championships coaches as one of 14 Class 3A/4A team members from a group of 34 of the best volleyball players in northern Indiana. Tryouts for the team were held last Sunday at Elkhart Memorial High School. As a member of the 3A/4A All-Star team, Benge will be playing with some of the finest volleyball players in Indiana. Other team members are New Prairie’s Margaux Jarka, Delta’s Kaitlin Walton, Yorktown’s Ari Eaton and Bailey Barker, Kyrstle Troyer and Brittany Anglemyer of Elkhart Memorial, Ariel Curney of LaPorte, Molly Richardson and Erika Moss of Fort Wayne Dwenger, Abbie Allardt of Muncie Central, Penn’s Kristin Ball, Concordia’s Jorae Bradbury and Karli Williamson of Lafayette Harrison. Coaches for the 3A/4A match are Tom Finicle of Southwood, Carla Herschberger of Fairfield and Troy Campbell of Marquette Catholic, all coaches of 2009’s Class A and 2A state finalist teams.
