BOURBON — Mayhem and murder will abound at the Triton Performing Arts Center Nov. 21 and 22 as the students take the stage to present “Arsenic and Old Lace.” The story takes place in the 1940s in Brooklyn where the Brewster family lives. Abby and Martha Brewster, two spinster aunts played by Ryley Cripps and Autumn McKenna have taken to helping single gentlemen, all alone in the world with no family, to “the other side”
Their nephew, Mortimer Brewster, played by Daniel Snyder, discovers a body in the window seat and believes his slightly mentally-off brother, Teddy, played by Dylan Senff to be the culprit of the murder. When another brother Jonathan, who bears a striking resemblance to Boris Karloff, played by Tom Eiser, returns to the house of his youth to use it as a hideout for he and his plastic surgeon, Dr. Einstein, played by Patrick Engels, hilarity and confusion ensues. Other members of the ensemble cast include, Kayla Shorey as Elaine Harper, Brandon Haines as Rev. Harper and Mr. Witherspoon, Drew Fleagle as Officer Brophy, Jeff Martin as Officer Klein, Adrienne Utter as Officer O’Hara, Nate Spangle as Lieutenant Rooney, Haley Anderson as Dead Body while Ethan Yazel is on Lights and Sound Board and the stage manager is Isabelle Yazel. The cast is directed by Lisa Eiser. Ticket prices are $3 for students and seniors, and $4 for adults. The times for the show are Saturday at 2 and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3. Sunday, audience members that bring three, new toiletry items, paper products, or cereal to be donated to the Helping Hands Food Pantry will receive $1 off ticket price.
