Dec. 30, 1925 — Nov. 7, 2009
    PLYMOUTH — Ellen “Eloise”Edging, 83, 6th St., Plymouth, passed away peacefully in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth, at 11:55 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009.
    Ellen was born in Logansport Dec. 30, 1925. She was the daughter of Harry and Hattie Shearer Bopp. She graduated from Logansport High School in 1944. On May 29, 1958, in Logansport, she and Samuel Edging were married.
    For several years Ellen was the Administrative Assistant at Divine Heart Seminary. She enjoyed fishing vacations in Minnesota and loved her golden retriever, Bailey.
Ellen is survived by Sam, her husband of 51 years; and by their son, John R. and daughter-in-law, Gayle, Vautaw of Walton, Ind.; and their daughter, Sue Edging of South Bend.
    Ellen was preceded in death by her parents.
    Friends are invited to share memories and visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
    Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Father Bernard Galic, will be held at 10 a.m. in the funeral home Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, in the funeral home.
    Burial will be in the Camden Cemetery in Camden, Ind.
    Memorial gifts may be made to the Marshall County Humane Society P.O. Box 22 Plymouth, IN, 46563.

Stephen T. Hampton M.D.
March 18, 1956 — Oct. 16, 2009
    BEDFORD — Stephen T. Hampton M.D. died peacefully at home Oct. 16, 2009. He had courageously been fighting cancer for the past year.
    He was born March 18, 1956 in Saginaw, Mich. He grew up in Argos where his father was in family practice.
    After graduating from Argos High School he attended Purdue University and then attended Tulane University in New Orleans, La. He earned a degree in Biology and a master’s degree in Pharmacology.
    After working for the Department of Energy in New Orleans and Washington, D.C., he graduated from Tulane Medical School. After completing his orthopedic residency in Chicago at the University of Illinois, he moved to Anderson, and practiced for 16 years before moving to Bedford, Ind. In Bedford he worked for Dunn Memorial Hospital as part of South Central Indiana Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.
While in Anderson he was the team doctor for all athletics at Anderson University. He also taught and provided job shadowing opportunities for many high school and college students.
    He is survived by his wife Julie (Snyder) Hampton whom he married Aug. 12, 1978; two daughters: Haley, 12, and Lauren, 8, who were the loves of his life; his parents: Dr. James and Frances Hampton of Naples, Fla.: one sister, Peggy Annis and her husband Larry of Monon; two brothers: David Hampton and his wife Traci of Edmond, Okla., and John Hampton and his wife Darci of Plymouth; his father- and mother-in-law Don and Marlis Snyder; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Doug and Kim Snyder; sister-in-law        Karen Snyder; and brother-in-law Tim Snyder, all of Plymouth. Also several nieces, nephews aunts, uncles and cousins survive.
    He was preceded in death by two brothers: Marc and Michael Hampton and his wonderful grandparents.
    Funeral Services were held Oct. 21 in Bedford and graveside committal services were held later that day at Maplewood Cemetery on the campus of Anderson University in Anderson.
    A memorial service will take place Sunday, Nov. 15, in Plymouth at Calvary Lutheran Church at 1 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend.
