The “Spirit of Triton” Marching Band competed in the District MArching Contest Saturday, Oct. 10 at Jackson Intermediate School in South Bend. The Triton band was one of 21 that competed in the Indiana State Music Association (ISMA) District Contest.
The bands were judged by a panel of three judges on music, visual presentation and marching. Triton received gold awards from each of the judges for an overall rating of Gold. This it the first time in the history of the Triton Schools that the band received this rating at a district marching contest sponsored by the state association. It is an accomplishment for all students who have participated in the Triton marching band. It can give them a sense of pride for representing their community in a positive way. The band will conclude its marching season with a performance at the Fall Concert to be held Monday, Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Triton Jr.-Sr. High School Performing Arts Center.
