PLYMOUTH — Volunteers for the Life Enrichment Center and the Marshall County On Aging Older Adults were honored at a luncheon Tuesday.

More than 50 of the numerous volunteers who help in a variety of capacities were given certificates of appreciation by Jackie Wright, director, and Mike Miley, board member.
Speaking to the group was Bill Wallace, who is a volunteer as well.
Wallace said, “I volunteer because I want to give back to my community.”
Wallace, a retired military veteran, is a SHIPP volunteer at the Life Enrichment Center. He also helps with tax preparation.
However, the center is not the only one place that he volunteers. He is currently the District Governor for the Lions Club and a regular weekly volunteer at the Hope Ministries in South Bend.
“Volunteers can take people where they need to go,” Wallace said. “Giving is better than getting.”
Many of the volunteers present the appreciation event deliver Meals On Wheels throughout the county.
Former Plymouth Mayors Bonnie and Jim Yeazel were among the honorees.
Wright extended a special thanks to Jim Yeazel saying, “If it wasn’t for Jim, we wouldn’t be in this building.”
The luncheon was donated by Christos’ Banquet Hall.
