Photo provided Lucy Davis watches a Monarch butterfly land atop Ethan Fritz’s head. The Monarch was one hatched at the Country Corner Daycare, which planted milkweed seeds with anticipation of attracting the Monarch butterfly.
Over the summer, the children at the center found several of the yellow, black and white caterpillars munching on the milkweeds. After forming a chrysalis, the children watched each butterfly appear. In the fall, the Monarchs migrate to the jungle mountains of Mexico where they spend the winter.
