The community is invited to the second annual Community “Care & Share” breakfast and auction preview haystack meal and benefit auction Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Borkholder Dutch Village auction arena. The event will begin at 8 a.m. with a breakfast of biscuits and gravy and an auction preview.
The benefit auction will begin at 10 a.m. and a haystack meal will begin at 11 a.m. The idea behind the benefit is to help market the Nappanee Community, replenish local food banks and support the Family Christian Development Center, Open Door and Parochial Opportunity Schools. Those who come are asked to bring a bag of non-perishable groceries. The Retail Division of the Nappanee Area Chamber of Commerce is again sponsoring the event. Their goal is $40,000 for the community. The committee is again looking for donations of products, certificates or services to be auctioned off (retail value of $100 or more). “Let’s keep the ball rolling” The committee has produced and is currently airing, their second set of TV commercials and 57 local businesses came together and helped make it possible.
