Lincoln’s Felke wins division at Marshall County golf event E-mail

Lincoln’s Patrick Felke shot an impressive 75 to win the Boys 14-15 division at a Marshall County Junior Golf Tour event at Sprig O’ Mint. Felke’s 75 was the lowest 18-hole score in any division at the tourney, while Plymouth’s Davis Payne came in behind him with an 84, and Bremen’s Taylor Fanning rounded out the top three in the Boys 14-15 competition with an 86.


John Glenn’s Slade Fry took second in the Boys 16-17 division behind Travis Rom as both turned in 76s for the round, while LaVille’s Cameron Gurtner won the Boys 12-13 division with a 41, followed in order by Lincoln’s Nate Kolter with a 42 and fellow Lancer Zach Gurtner with a 44 in third place.


Gregory Music of Triton topped the field in the Boys 8-9 group with a 22, while Plymouth’s Allison Bayley and Bremen’s Jessica Johnson finished one and two, respectively in the Girls 15-17 division with scores of 96 and 104.


Bremen’s Morgan Oberley won the Girls 8-11 division with a 24, and Bremen golfer accounted for four of the top five in the group. Lauren Read placed third, two strokes behind Anna Schmeltz of St. Patrick’s score of 26, while Kirsten Johnson and Lexi Miller turned in respective scores of 33 and 36 for fourth and fifth place.

Schenk, Schmeltz take third at IGF Round Barn tourney
Plymouth’s John Schenk placed third in the Boys 8-9 contest with a 13-over 49 during the Indiana Golf Foundation’s Round Barn at Mill Creek prep tournament Thursday. In the Girls 10-11 division, meanwhile, Walkerton’s Anna Schmeltz turned in a 62 for third place as well.
