First H1N1 clinic moves smoothly
Image
Nurse Barb White administers a shot to a brave Jacob Deacon, who didn’t flinch when accepting the H1N1 vaccine at Washington Elementary School Thursday. Pilot photos/Maggie Nixon

By Rusty Nixon Correspondent
PLYMOUTH — For most it is a strange sight to see. Literally hundreds of children, lined up down the block from an elementary school hoping to get a shot.
That was the unlikely scene at Washington School in Plymouth last night as The Marshall County Health Department held its first H1N1 flu shot clinic. In spite of the large numbers that turned out and the trickle of vaccine into the county, the department didn’t have to turn anyone away. Everyone who came received an inoculation.

2009 Miss Blueberry contestants E-mail
Friday, 19 June 2009
The 2009 Blueberry Festival Pageant will be held Saturday, June 20 at 7 p.m. at Argos High School. Each contestant meets with a panel of judges to determine 40 percent of their score, based on personal interviews.
The contestants were asked to choose their favorite entertainer and create an outfit that reflects that person. This will be the basis of the "theme-wear" portion of the contest, which counts for 30 percent of the contestants' score.
During the formal-wear portion, contestants will answer an on-stage question. The combination of their formal attire and the answer they provide will account for the final 30 percent of their scores.
