BREMEN — The Boys & Girls Club of Bremen, a unit of the Boys & Girls Club of Marshall County, has received a grant from the Marshall County Community Foundation.
The $5,000 grant will assist with the start-up costs for the club that has a scheduled opening this August.
The Boys & Girls Club of Bremen, in partnership with the Bremen School Corporation, will operate in the Bremen Elementary-Middle School building. The club’s focus will be on education through homework help, social skill building and computer skills. The club will serve those children attending BEMS weekdays from 3 to 6 p.m.
The Boys & Girls Club of Bremen Advisory Council recently elected its leadership during the April board meeting: Bremen Elementary-Middle School Principal Larry Yelaska and Deanna Taylor, human resources manager, Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center and Bremen resident, were elected to co-chair the advisory council, along with newly elected secretary, Jill Hassel. Additional advisory council members include, Jamie and Aimee Bellman, State Sen. Ryan Mishler, Ann Holmes and Brian Adams.
